WWE Network News is reporting that tomorrow’s “Hidden Gem” selection on the WWE Network will be what is being termed as “unaired home video pilot” of the AWA Team Challenge Series.
The video is dated 10/23/89 and titled AWA Team Challenge Series.
In 1989, the AWA launched the Series, based around the idea of the company’s roster forming three different teams, captained by Sgt. Slaughter, Larry Zbyszko and Baron Von Rashke. In the midst of the Series, Slaughter left the company to return to the WWF for his heel run as WWF Champion, with Col. DeBeers replacing Slaughter.
