22nd Oct 2019

This November, Rosehill Gardens is gearing up to host the inaugural Golden Eagle Day, a 1,500 metre race which has been crowned the country’s third richest. So prepare to dust off your fascinators, pick the perfect dress and pair the look with your chicest accessories for a day at the races this spring.

Hosted at Rosehill Gardens, home to nine Group 1 races including the $3.5 million Longines Golden Slipper, the very first Golden Eagle Day will take over the location’s track for an event that promises to be one to remember on November 2, 2019.

On top of the live entertainment, fashions on the field and award-winning hospitality on offer at the inaugural Golden Eagle Day, Racing NSW has pledged to donate 10 per cent of the $7.5 million in prize money to the winning owners’ charity of choice.

Encouraging attendees to dress to impress in adherence to the Australian Turf Club’s formal code—think dress shoes and collared shirts for men and suitable attire for women—Rosehill Gardens has suggested that racegoers lean into the metallic luxe trend on the day, meaning the time to unearth your favourite embellished, sequinned or silver pieces is now.

In terms of entertainment, from The Hive and the Grand Pavilion, to the various Champagne bars and the Golden Palms, Golden Eagle Day will be celebrated across the entire grounds of Rosehill Gardens—so there’s no excuse not to join in on all the fun. And for a celebration unlike any other, complete with gourmet canapés, Moët and Chandon beverage packages, live music and spectacular views, be sure to head to The Hive’s exclusive Gold Party.

For a gourmet buffet and easy access to trackside seating on November 2, visit Rosehill Garden’s Grand Pavilion, it’s the ideal place to settle in for a day of racing. However, if you’re after a far more social setting, the palm-studded oasis known as Golden Palms, complete with performances by a live DJ and a yet-to-be-revealed musical duo at the Might and Power Gate, is the place for you.

Last but not least, be sure to stop by Rosehill Garden’s foodie precinct, Eats at the Gardens, when you’re ready to reset and refuel with a hearty meal and a series of refreshing beverages. With Hardstyle Kitchen, Greek Street and Philly Cheesesteak food trucks slated to be set up on the day, there is truly something for everyone.
