Wahbi Khazri confirms he wants to leave Sunderland

Sunderland attacking midfielder Wahbi Khazri confirmed the L’Équipe that he wants to leave the club following their relegation to the Premier League.

“I think I have left a good impression (in France). But for the moment, I have not received any contact from Ligue 1. I am not closing any doors, but I love England, its atmosphere, stadia that are full, wonderful pitches and its mentality, different to ours. Even if you are playing to fight relegation, you are playing to win and you have more space. I love that. That does not compare to France. I watched the final matchday of Ligue 1 and it hurt me. I did not see Bastia make a single good chance against Marseille. In France, apart from Monaco and PSG… If Marseille contact me? They are a super club, with a super stadium and super fans. I would certainly want to listen to an offer from Marseille, as I did for Bordeaux. But it is not in the works today. I have to be patient, but I am hungry for football.”
