Film festival season is in full swing with the glamorous 2019 Venice Film Festival having recently wrapped after days of show-stopping red carpet looks including Lily-Rose Depp’s major Chanel moment. The model and actress stunned in a lilac gown from the storied French house as she walked the red carpet alongside rumoured boyfriend Timothée Chalamet (who also brought his A-game in a silver suit) ahead of the premiere of .
After the dazzling highs of the 76th edition of the Venice Film Festival, the stars departed the watery shores of the Italian city, jetting off to Canada for the 44th annual Toronto International Film Festival, which began on September 5 and will run until September 15.
Compared to the scene-stealing Venice and Cannes film festivals, the Toronto Film Festival is typically more low-key in terms of the red carpet, however, the high calibre of movies on the festival program means it does play host to a roll-call of A-list stars and celebrities, albeit with a slightly more casual red carpet dress code.
This year’s program boasts a raft of highly-anticipated film premieres with all-star casts, including Jennifer Lopez’s — also starring Constance Wu and Lili Reinhart — along with the film adaptation of Donna Tartt’s best-selling book,, starring Nicole Kidman, Sarah Paulson, Ansel Elgort, Finn Wolfhard and up-and-coming Australian star Ashleigh Cummings.
And, whether supporting their film at the premiere or attending a festival-related event, the slightly more casual dress code has still seen a number of key fashion moments at the festival.
