The Stormers have received a boost with the news that Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has recovered from injury and been included in their squad for their tour to Europe.

The men from the Cape will face Glasgow Warriors in the United Rugby Championship at Scotstoun on Sunday before taking on London Irish at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford on January 15.

Back in action

Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who can play at fly-half or inside centre, is set to return to action after suffering a tibia injury while playing for South Africa ‘A’ against Bristol Bears last November.

Experienced scrum-half Stefan Ungerer is also part of the 28-man touring squad after recovering from injury, while youngsters Imad Khan (scrum-half) and Simon Miller (utility forward) are on their first tour with the Stormers and in line to make their debuts for the Cape Town-based outfit.

Stormers head coach John Dobson believes the two-week tour will be a real test for his squad’s depth.

“We have two tough games in conditions vastly different to what we have experienced at home in the last month, so this will be a real test for us,” he said.

“There are some experienced players missing through injury, but we are excited to see what the players coming in can offer and looking forward to the chance for the squad as a whole to grow and learn on tour together.”
