Steve Austin was approached by TMZ Sports at an airport this week and spoke about Daniel Bryan retiring from WWE due to concussions. Austin was asked if Bryan’s career ending was part of a concussion epidemic in WWE and replied:
“I just think Daniel Bryan worked a very physical cruiserweight style and finally, after everything he did, it kinda took it out of him. I don’t think it’s going to be an epidemic…
Over the past 20 years, there’s only been a couple guys that had to bow out with concussions. Daniel worked his ass off and he was a hard worker, and his style finally caught up with him. It is what it is but I don’t think it’s an epidemic.”
