So, Does This Mean Lena Dunham Likes the Met Gala After All?

Like any big Hollywood spectacle, the Met Gala’s got its regulars. The Kardashians, Madonna, Rihanna, and plenty of others come back for more each year. But not every celeb feels so warm and fuzzy toward it.

Fashion’s night out has made some enemies along the way, and while some stars like Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie have simply declined their invites, others like Lena Dunham has been more vocal about disliking it.

“You and I were literally sitting across from each other at the Met Ball, and it was like a crazy countdown to when we could escape,” she recounted to Amy Schumer in a Lenny Letter. “You were like, ‘We’re honored to be here. We’re honored to be here.””

She must have not hated it that much though, since she was there for her sixth time on Monday, after also making appearances in 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, and 2011. Dunham did walk the 2018 Met Gala red carpet, despite the things she’s said in the past, and she even dressed according to the theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”
