Over the weekend, Elie Saab Jr., the son of Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab, and his partner, Christina Mourad, tied the knot in a three-day celebration held in Beirut, surrounded by family and friends.

Vogue Germany reports that a party at exclusive country club Le Plateau de Bakish served to kick off the festivities, before Lebanese stars Assi El Hallani, Michel Fadel and Elissa and Nancy Ajram took to the stage to perform at the Faqra Club. At the stroke of midnight, a fireworks display lit up the sky, which was then followed by a sunrise party.

As the daughter-in-law of a designer celebrated for crafting the most extravagant wedding dresses, it should come as no surprise that Mourad wed Saab’s son wearing his designs.

The bride wore two lavish gowns on her big day, opting for a sleeveless, high-necked design for the ceremony, which came complete with a 4.5 meter-long train, and a golden, Swarovski-embellished dress for the evening’s celebrations.

“For the matrimonial wedding the bride stole our breath away in custom Elie Saab Haute Couture in an elaborate display of embroidery from the headpiece to the veil and royal gown synonymous with the maison’s signature Haute Couture craftsmanship,” the brand captioned an image of the first gown, which reportedly took 12 artisans over 450 hours to create.

“The bride wore a shimmering golden dress inspired by the latest Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2019-20 Collection,” the brand then captioned an image of the second gown. Vogue Germany confirms said dress was covered in 150,000 Swarovski stones, and came complete with a 3.5 metre-long train featuring 100,000 golden sequins.

Saab Jr. and Mourad tied the knot in front of over 1,000 guests, the likes of which included models Karolina Kurkova, Toni Garrn, Sara Sampaio and Lily Donaldson, together with Dita Von Teese and Vogue Arabia editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut.
