WASHINGTON, DC — Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey will testify Wednesday before the Senate Intelligence Committee. The hearing on how foreign intelligence operations use social media is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST. You can watch it in its entirety above.
Google CEO Larry Page reportedly declined an invitation to attend the hearing. Global affairs executive Kent Walker will provide lawmakers written testimony, but will not make an appearance.
Sandberg, a former senior adviser in the Clinton administration, is no stranger to Capitol Hill and became internationally recognizable with her bestselling book “Lean In.” Dorsey is less well known and rarely came to the nation’s capital until recently, according to The Washington Post.
The Senate panel will likely question the powerful duo about how their company’s do business, how they protect peoples’ privacy and how disinformation spreads on their platforms. They’ll also likely face questions about how foreign governments abuse their products to manipulate American sentiments.
