Another day, another wedding to attend for Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, four. The third-in-line and fourth-in-line to the British throne, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are reported to be reprising their roles as pageboy and bridesmaid respectively in yet another wedding.

In their young lives, the tots have already been bridal attendants for four weddings, two of which were royal — Prince Harry’s May 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie’s October 2018 wedding to Jack Brooksbank. The other two weddings were Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa Middleton’s, 2017 wedding to James Matthews, and the September 2018 wedding of Kate Middleton’s friend Sophie Carter to Robert Snuggs.
According to Prince George and Princess Charlotte are reportedly set to play a role in the upcoming wedding of Princess Charlotte’s godfather, Thomas van Straubenzee to Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe, who is assistant head teacher at Thomas’s Battersea, the school Prince George currently attends and where Princess Charlotte will be going later this year.
According to The Sunday Times, Lanigan-O’Keeffe and van Straubenzee only recently got engaged and although no details such as a date or location of the wedding have been revealed as yet, it’s expected that not only will Princess Charlotte and Prince George play a role in the wedding, but Prince William will also be in the wedding party, serving as an usher.
Prince William and van Straubenzee have been close friends since their prep school days. reports that the Duke of Cambridge served as an usher at van Straubenzee’s first marriage in 2013 to Lady Melissa Percy (the couple divorced in 2016) and now it looks like he’ll again play that role at van Straubanzee’s upcoming wedding to Lanigan-O’Keeffe.
The van Straubenzee family have close ties to the royal family, not only are Thomas and Prince William very close — he is, as noted above, Princess Charlotte’s godfather and he served as an usher at Prince William’s 2011 wedding to Kate Middleton — reports both Prince William and Prince Harry are great friends with Thomas’s younger brother, Charlie. Prince Harry served as best man at Charlie’s 2018 wedding to Daisy Jenks.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also recently reportedly attended a charity event for Charlie and Thomas’s brother, Henry, who was tragically killed in a car accident when he was just 18 years old. Markle read a poem at the memorial fundraiser.
