Poland and Russia celebrate their qualification for Olympics 2012. Third spot is still open, Italy and Brazil has to fight until the last point.
Russia gained 3 important points after the win over Iran in three sets. “I’m so appreciative and grateful to the players. They did their best. All of their efforts are reflected in the results. We have a big game against Poland tomorrow but I am very happy that we have qualified for the Olympics”, said head coach of Russian national team Vladimir Alekno.
Poland lost in tiebreak with Brazil. Andrea Anastasi was more than happy after the match – “We are very happy to qualify for the Olympics. We played unbelievable in the first two sets. We lost our energy after that. We will play Russia for first place tomorrow and will do our best”.
Bernardo Rezende is thinking about the last game against Japan – “Tomorrow’s match will be like an Olympic final for us. If we win, we are in for London”.
Also Italy will do their best in the last game… “We had to beat Japan and Iran to give us a chance at third place. We are halfway there now. We will try our best tomorrow“. added Mauro Berruto.
