Plans for WrestleMania Women’s Matches, Strowman/Lesnar, Fox Hurt

Asuka emerged as the winner of the Royal Rumble match last night, but the surprise appearance of Ronda Rousey prevented her from announcing which champion she will challenge at WrestleMania. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Radio show, Asuka will be challenging Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at the show. As for Raw, it is believed that the friendship between Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax will come to an end soon and they will then go on to face each other for the Raw Women’s Championship in New Orleans. As for Ronda Rousey, the Observer’s Dave Meltzer stated that she will be teaming up with a partner of her choosing to face Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar are two of the most beloved superstars in WWE today due to their impressive strength and onscreen presence. However, their matches together have not been very well-received by the WWE Universe. Braun and Brock’s match at No Mercy was largely seen as a disappointment, and their triple threat match featuring Kane was also not beloved by some fans. However, a stiff knee strike from Strowman during last night’s match has some fans convinced that there may be legitimate heat between the two men. Lesnar’s stiff shots and censored profanity after the spot from Strowman is largely what has led to these assumptions.

Nearly every single member of the current main women’s roster competed in the Royal Rumble match last night. Unfortunately, Alicia Fox had to miss out on the historic match. Although she had been advertised to appear as an entrant in the match, WWE reported just hours before the match began that she is dealing with a tailbone injury at the moment. This does appear to be a legitimate injury and not one designed to make room for one of the surprise entrants involved in the match. In fact, it has also been announced that Fox will not be able to partake in the Mixed Match Challenge. A new tag team partner for Goldust will be announced by WWE later on this week.

Sad but true…. still #royalrumble READY!!! However, I’m blessed to share the ring with the most #talented, #inspired, and #beautiful #women of the #WWE ??? FOX APPROVED!!
