According to our colleagues at Foot Mercato, Premier League side Newcastle United are well out in front to sign Chelsea striker Loïc Rémy on loan until the end of the season.
Rémy has received an offer from an unnamed Russian side for a permanent transfer, but the player wants to join a side on loan until the end of the season in order to receive regular playing time so that he might make the EURO 2016 squad.
Lille have also not given up on the chase, especially owing to Lille boss Frédéric Antonetti’s relationship with the player, having coached him at OGC Nice, but the financials will be better covered by a Premier League side. Rémy also has more of a chance of impressing Deschamps by performing well in the Premier League as opposed to performing well in Ligue 1.
