With the four New Japan Pro Wrestling stars (AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows) reportedly jumping-ship to WWE simultaneously, it should be pointed out that each case was handled individually and things just happened to work out in a way where four top stars all reached deals around the same time.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Shinsuke Nakamura going to WWE wasn’t a sudden decision, as it is something he has been contemplating for a while. With the other three, the talks and decisions were far more recent.
One thing people might not know about Nakamura is that he both understands and speaks the English language fairly well. The word going around is that if people who have seen Nakamura think his charisma only works for his entrances and in the ring during his matches, it actually applies to his promo ability as well. While it may not exactly transition smoothly with him doing promos in a second language, he won’t have to worry about learning English like many past Japanese stars who came to WWE had to do.
The current word on Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson is that the two will be making their debuts on NXT television in early March.
Regarding ownership of names, New Japan Pro Wrestling owns the name “Bullet Club,” Doc Gallows owns the rights to the name “Biz Cliz” and as noted recently, WWE just filed for a trademark on the name “Balor Club.”
