Melina Done With Wrestling, Bellas Lose TCA, WWE Lawsuit Update

During her time in WWE, Melina experienced a lot of success and even captured the Divas and Women’s Championships on a few occasions. Even after leaving the company in 2011, Melina continued to wrestle every once in a while on the independent circuit, but Melina has just announced her retirement from the business. During a live Periscope video, Melina was asked about possibly returning to WWE for a match against Smackdown’s Zelina Vega, and although she seemed intrigued by the idea, Melina also says that she has moved on from wrestling and is completely fine with her career being over. Melina is beginning a new career for herself and has decided to leave wrestling behind, saying to her fans: “You got me thinking but, I’m not coming back to wrestling guys. No, stop making me think about this stuff, I don’t want to [return]. I’ve got happier stuff, you know? I accept that my time has come and gone, I’m secure with that. I’m cool with that.”
The Bella Twins may not compete in WWE full time anymore, but that does not mean that the sisters are not part of the WWE family. The two of them are still two of the biggest female stars in the entire company and continue to experience success with their Total Divas and Total Bella reality shows on the E! network. The Bellas were nominated for Teen Choice Awards in two different categories: Choice Summer TV Show for Total Bellas and Choice Reality TV Show for Total Divas, but unfortunately, the shows lost out to “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” respectively during the show last night. Though the Bellas lost the awards, they appear to be proud of the accomplishment regardless of the outcome.

So proud for @Total_Bellas and @TotalDivas to be nominated for a @TeenChoiceFOX tonight! Can’t wait for the new season of #TotalDivas September 19th! Honestly best season yet!!!!! N

It was reported a while back that a tattoo artist by the name of Catherine Alexander was pursuing legal action against WWE and 2K Games for allegedly using her tattoo work on Smackdown Superstar Randy Orton in the WWE 2K video games and not paying her. An update from PWInsider reveals that the company attempted to have the lawsuit dismissed on August 7th, but Alexander did argue that the court does have jurisdiction over the company, and she also supplied six copyright claims for some of Orton’s tattoo designs. As a result, it has been ruled that all discovery for the case is to be submitted by January 7th, 2019, and a settlement conference is now set to begin on April 16th, 2019.
