Vogue US reveals our very own Margot Robbie as the magazine’s latest cover star, and in the accompanying interview, the actress talks candidly about her career, marriage and more.
Robbie, who is currently promoting her new film Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, also explained why she hates the word “bombshell.”
“I hate that word. I hate it – so much,” the 28-year-old actor says in the interview. “I feel like a brat saying that because there are worse things, but I’m not a bombshell.”
Robbie explains that the word doesn’t resonate with her at all. “I’m not someone who walks in a room and the record stops and people turn like, ‘Look at that woman.’ That doesn’t happen. People who know me, if they had to sum me up in one word I don’t know what that word would be, but I’m certain it would not be bombshell.”
In the interview, the Oscar-nominated actor also discussed her husband, Tom Ackerley, and what it’s like working with him at their production company, LuckyChap. “We can talk about work all the time. And then work feels like fun. And fun stuff can involve work.” Robbie and Ackerley actually met through work, on the set of the film Suite Française, where Ackerley was working as an assistant director. “We just get along,” Robbie adds of working with her spouse. “I think it’s crazy that not all couples get along.”
The Queensland-born actor-turned-producer also explained why she doesn’t discuss her father in interviews (“Just because it’s hard to briefly mention without it sounding like ‘My dad’s awful and. . . .’ That whole thing. But yes, Mum and Dad split up”), how she came up with the name for LuckyChap (“We were drunk, and no one remembers. So it’s kind of like a shit tattoo. I have only shit tattoos”), and more.
