Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's New York apartment is for sale

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are not known for their subtlety. We’re talking about a man who posed as Jesus Christ wearing a crown of thorns on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. And Kardashian’s long-running reality TV show, Keeping up with the Kardashians, is an incessant stream of extravagant mansions, events and photoshoots, while West is famous for outrageous lyrics and eye-wateringly expensive sneakers (a single pair of Yeezys can set you back several thousand dollars). So you’d expect their digs in The Big Apple to be, well, big. Over the top. Excessive.

But it’s not. If anything, the couple’s place on West Houston Street is an exercise in elegant restraint. Designed by Italian architect Claudio Silvestrin, who is famed for his minimalism, the Kardashian-West apartment in Soho has a calm, neutral colour palette, ceilings almost three metres high, and 13 well-placed windows to maximise natural light. A garden rooftop offers 360-degree views of Manhattan.

The one bedroom, one bathroom (plus powder room) apartment has an asking price of $6.95 million, and is actually two flats on the building’s fourth floor that have been joined together and renovated as one. Scroll down for more details on the power couple’s long-term New York pad which will soon belong to someone else – though it’s not as if the Kardashian-Wests are going to be homeless. The pair own a mansion in Los Angeles designed by Axel Vervoordt rumoured to be worth $90 million and recently purchased a ranch in Wyoming for $20 million.
