“We will comply with what the authorities tell us, but for the fairness of the L1, it is important to finish this championship. This is our job. So yes, the situation is not easy, there are certainly risks. But we are professional players, and we are used to taking risks. Everyday we face this. There can be injuries, and lots of other things in our careers. I want to emphasise one thing: we are not to be pitied. Far from it… I think it would be a lack of respect for the French if the majority of the population went back to work and not the footballers. What would that mean? It would be a bad signal sent to everyone.”
