Singer, dancer, actress and fashion icon, Jennifer Lopez, celebrated her engagement to former professional baseball player, Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez, in dazzling pre-wedding style on Friday night, September 27, with a celebrity and family-filled engagement party hosted by legendary singer, Carole Bayer Sager.
According to E! News, Bayer Sager threw the couple the celebratory soirée at her Bel Air house in Los Angeles and an eyewitness reported it was so romantic, it could have doubled as a wedding. “It was a dimly-lit party with candles everywhere, white flowers and purple lighting,” an inside source told the publication, adding that it was held, “both indoors and outdoors.”
The couple reportedly arrived at their party with their kids—Rodriguez’s two daughters, Natasha, 14, and Ella, 11, from his previous marriage to Cynthia Scurtis, and Lopez’s 11-year-old twins, Emme and Max, from her marriage to Marc Anthony—around 8pm for the festivities.
Lopez’s friend and Second Act co-star, Leah Remini, shared a stunning selfie from the night of herself with the bride-to-be, captioned “reunitedanditfeelssogood”. JLo’s former American Idol co-star, Ryan Seacrest, reportedly also attended the party.
The Jenny from the Block singer also took to social media after the event to share a number of pictures from the engagement party, including a very sweet snap of her and Rodriguez kissing. Lopez captioned the post, “Thank you Carol and Bob for the most beautifully elegant night… we love you #engagementparty”.
Not only was the dreamy flower-filled, candle-lit setting notably nuptial-esque, Lopez’s dress for the evening also had a very bridal feel. The Hustlers actress wore a white ruffled one-shoulder dress, which the Daily Mail reports could be from British label Solace London’s resort 2020 collection. Per the publication, the dress isn’t yet available to purchase (unless your name is JLo, of course).
A-Rod popped the question to his girlfriend of two years in March this year on a romantic trip to the Bahamas. The groom-to-be proposed with a breathtaking diamond ring and the pair both shared their happy news on social media.
No details on a wedding date as yet, but according to US Weekly, Lopez is in charge of the wedding planning, with Rodriguez confirming as much, “When you think about wedding plans and Jennifer is your partner, all you do is—you do a lot of nodding. I don’t know where the location is, I don’t know what I’m wearing, I don’t know when it is. I’ll just show up.”
