After news surfaced of their engagement last February, Jennifer Lawrence has now spoken out about her relationship status with Cooke Maroney. Although we knew the couple were definitely headed to the altar (her people confirmed it and we’ve since seen pictures from their engagement party), it’s still exciting to hear Jennifer Lawrence speak out about the engagement herself.
Lawrence walked the red carpet for the X-Men: Dark Phoenix premiere in Los Angeles this week, where she spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the happy news.
“Well, he’s just the best person I’ve ever met in my whole life,” Lawrence said of her 34-year-old art dealer fiancé. When asked about the proposal, she added: “It was a very, very easy decision.”
In February, the 28-year-old actor was spotted dining with Maroney in New York, wearing a new sparkling ring on her finger. Days later a rep for Lawrence settled the speculation with E! News and just last month, Lawrence and Maroney held an intimate engagement party for friends and family. The bride-to-be wore a pink silk chiffon dress for the occasion, which just happened to be by a bridal designer, L.Wells Bridal.
The couple have been dating since June of 2018 but this is the first time the Oscar-winning actress has spoken publicly about their relationship. Lawrence is notoriously private about her personal life and so it’s no wonder the couple keep their relationship under wraps – they’re even yet to walk a red carpet together.
Of course, this is all pointing to the fact that we’ll probably get very little information about their impending nuptials, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
