L’Équipe provide an update on the situation of 22-year-old Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar on Tuesday morning.
They report that the French youth international “absolutely wants to leave, is resigned little by little to joining Arsenal, the only club to have advanced with timid offers, after having more hoped for Manchester City or Juventus.”
The newspaper adds that during this pandemic, OL need to make €100m in sales over the course of the window, and are still missing around €50m.
They confirm that Jeff-Reine Adélaïde “is for the moment the closest to the exit door, and he might be the only one to depart if Lyon’s demands for Depay and Aouar are not met.”

OL in August were seeking €60m in order to allow for Aouar to leave. But after offering Lyon €30m plus Mattéo Guendouzi in August, Technical Director Edu & Arsenal “are barely able to offer €38m in cash, which is not encouraging Lyon to let go of its best element. The Lyon playmaker has another 3 years on his contract and if he stays and remobilises, has a great season and makes EURO 2021 with France, he will be worth more next summer.”
