Greek League: Finikas and Ethnikos claimed tough victories

Iraklis Thessaloniki and Finikas Syros met again after 6 months, after the tumultuous 5th final of last season’s play offs and Finikas won by 3-2.

It was not an easy game for Finikas, they had to get over the stress of losing 3 games in the row (2 for the league 1 for the Challenge cup), and they had to do it to boost their psychology. Iraklis on the other hand had a bad start this season, -3 points and 3 games without its fans after their punishment last year (the team was punished because of the bad behavior of their fans). Iraklis had a small time to practice since the team was formed at the last minute. As a result Iraklis has not made any big accomplishments so far this season.

Both teams had a good share of good attacks, blocks and receives, Finikas was a better in reception and serve though and that made all the difference at the game.

The sets: 25-22, 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 13-15

At the other game of the 6th matchday, Milonas lost by 3-0 from Ethnikos Alexandropolis. Milonas had to play without the 2 Colombians Mosqueira and Zapata Churi (they were both playing with their national team), so it had to fight hard. Ethnikos on the other hand was a strong team with a lot of solutions. Both coaches used a lot of young players and Milonas had the youngest in the League, the 15-year-old Kiriakos Spiriounis.

Ethnikos and Milonas fought hard at 1st and 3nd, but the second set was too easy for Ethnikos. Ethnikos had a good quality in receive and blocks, while Milonas good blocks and that helped them to keep the attackers of Ethnikos as far as possible.

The sets: 23-25, 18-25, 23-25

At the other games of 6th MatchDay:

Olympiacos – Niki Aiginio 3-0

PAOK- Aris 0-3

Lamia – Panathinaikos 3-0

Pamvohaikos – Kifisia 3-1
