Footless with Toms

Toms Shoes will host barefoot walks and events on April 8th to raise awareness about the importance of shoes. Toms is reaching out to communities in the world asking them to host events for parts of the world where children’s feet are exposed to debilitating diseases.

The answer seems simple, but shoes are unfortunately not on hand for everyone. Wearing shoes and basic hygiene can prevent both infection and disease due to unsafe roads and contaminated soil. By imagining a life barefoot, Toms is calling out to everyone to contribute to the awareness of these conditions.

Toms began in 2006, when American traveller Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created Toms Shoes. To date, Toms has given over 400,000 pairs of new shoes to children around the world through its giving partners.
