With such a compelling combination of must-see elements and that cliffhanger season one ending, it makes sense that Netflix would green light a second season of the show. According to at the For Your Consideration Emmy panel on Monday June 3, the streamer confirmed they are doing just that, season two is happening. Here’s everything we know so far about season two.

According to the second season of will premiere on Netflix in 2020. No confirmation on which month the streamer will drop the second season as yet, but check back here, we’ll update this when further details come to light.

Who will be back for season two? Per the streamer has confirmed the leads, Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini), will both be reprising their roles. No other casting details have been announced as yet and after the ending of season one, it’s anyone’s guess if James Marsden who plays Judy’s ex, Steve Wood, will be back.

After the twists and turns season one took with Jen and Judy’s friends-enemies-friends relationship at the core, expectations are high that season two will follow a similar narrative arc. reports series creator and showrunner Liz Feldman hinted as much, saying in season two Jen and Judy’s friendship is “now a very complicated dynamic… and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of season one.”

It appears there’ll also be another mystery to solve thanks to how season one ended, leaving many questions about what exactly happened in the pool.

No confirmation as yet on how many episodes season two will be, but it’s assumed the half-hour format for each episode will remain and the episode count is likely to follow season one’s 10 episode season.
