By now it's a running joke: Anyone who works on any of Disney's super-secret projects, be they Star Wars or Marvel, always fears the snipers. The Mouse House is so protective of its properties and their plot details, the thinking goes, that anyone who dares reveal something too soon would be shot on the spot.

It's a gag at comic conventions. It comes up on panels. Someone swears they've seen red lasers at Star Wars Celebration. (That last one was probably just a lightsaber, to be fair.) It may be stale by now, but it always gets a laugh—and now it's time to add Jude Law to the list of performatively paranoid castmembers.
In the latest WIRED Autocomplete Interview, the actor revealed the very well known fact that Brie Larson is playing the titular character in next year's Captain Marvel, and almost immediately went into joke autopilot mode. "Am I allowed to say that?" he asked, his eyes darting up as if looking for the snipers. "Just gotta make sure the Marvel police aren't going to shoot me."
Other things folks already knew without threat of assassination: Law plays Mar-Vell, the almost-titular Kree leader who helps Larson's Carol Danvers realize her potential in the superheroine's upcoming film, due out March 8. (If you need a guide to keep track of all of these Marvel-ous characters, we've got you covered.) Law is also, you'll learn in the video above, British (duh), not quite six feet tall (congratulations?), and actually named David (but not even his parents call him that).
Watch the full clip above for even more Rules of Law, and the latest invention from his Vox Lux costar Natalie Portman. "Have you ever had gefilte fish? It's like a Jewish food," she asks Law. "You have horseradish on the side. It's kind of the same thing as wasabi, right? Jew-shi. No one's made it. Why don't they make sushi with gefilte fish? It's disgusting, but good branding, right?"
Especially if you can append "Oscar-Winner Natalie Portman's" to the beginning of it.
