Following their second successive 2-0 win since returning to the French top flight, promoted Clermont are set to bolster their defence with the signing of Cameroonian international Jean-Claude Billong, according to L’Équipe.
The 27-year-old Billong has two caps for Cameroon and is currently attached to relegated Italian side Benevento, who spent last season in Serie A while Billong was on loan at Hatayspor in the Turkish top flight where the centre-back made 26 appearances.
L’Équipe report that Billong watched Clermont’s win over Troyes from that stands yesterday and will have a medical today with the club.
