Today, Apple announced the launch of Apple News+ in Australia (available from today), which the company described in a press statement as, “a subscription service that brings together hundreds of popular magazines and leading newspapers into a beautiful, convenient and curated experience within the Apple News app.”

In a similar way to how Apple News delivers your daily dose of news in the convenience of a shiny Apple app every day, Apple News+ provides access to all your favourite magazine titles, including Vogue Australia and Vogue Living, all in that same easy-to-use Apple app. Indeed, Apple News+ sounds like the digital newsagency we’ve all been waiting for.

Apple’s press announcement noted that Apple News+ offers access to a wide range of titles in many different areas of interest, including leading Australian titles such as Vogue Australia, Vogue Living, Delicious, GQ, The Daily Telegraph, The Australian, as well as a number of international titles such as National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Hello! and The Sunday Times (UK).

“Apple News+ offers hundreds of the world’s most popular publications, all discoverable through personalised and curated recommendations,” said Lauren Kern, editor-in-chief of Apple News via the press statement. “The quality of the journalism, the beautiful photography, the stunning live covers and custom-designed articles in this collection are second to none. We think readers in Australia will be delighted with the offering, and we are proud to support the work of our newest publisher partners.”

Apple News+ is available from today, October 1, 2019, in Australia for $14.99 per month. Or, sign up for a free one-month trial (the plan will automatically renew after the one-month trial period ends). Apple News+ is supported in Australia on the following operating systems: iOS 12.2 or macOS 10.14.4. And, per the press statement, through Apple’s ‘Family Sharing’, up to six family members can share the Apple News+ subscription.
