All Blacks: 100 up for veteran Brodie Retallick in titanic Twickenham Test against England

All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick will run out for his 100th Test cap after being named in head coach Ian Foster’s starting XV to face England.

Retallick joins skipper Sam Whitelock in the second-row behind the tweaked front-row of Ethan de Groot, Codie Taylor and Tyrel Lomax.

Scott Barrett shifts from lock to flank alongside Dalton Papali’i and Ardie Savea in an exciting-looking back-row that rounds out a solid forward pack.

Rejigged backline

The half-back pairing of veteran Aaron Smith and Richie Mo’unga is reunited for the England Test after both had a week off against Scotland.

In the midfield, Jordie Barrett starts with the talented Rieko Ioane, who have looked solid together as a partnership in the centres.

Wing Mark Telea retains his place in the starting line-up after a promising debut last weekend. The Blues star is joined by Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke in a solid-looking back-three.

On the bench, Samisoni Taukei’aho, George Bower and Nepo Laulala are the front-row options, with Shannon Frizell and Hoskins Sotutu the back-row replacements.

David Havili and Anton Lienert-Brown join the experienced TJ Perenara as the remaining substitutes.

Foster is looking forward to the clash against England, which is always a big occasion for the All Blacks.

“We feel the squad has been building nicely throughout this tour,” Foster said.

“Playing England is something we don’t get to do often so we are excited for the challenge.

Huge opportunity for All Blacks

“This is an opportunity to continue our growth as a team at one of the great venues in world rugby – Twickenham.”
