A look at Melbourne Fashion Week’s Caledonian Lane fashion show

Shortly after Melbourne Fashion Week ambassador and internationally renowned South Sudanese-Australian model Adut Akech opened the 2019 fashion week’s first Town Hall Runway, the 19-year-old joined Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann front row for Street Runway 1 on Caledonian Lane, during Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out in Melbourne on August 29. 

The fashion show, which was presented by Emporium Melbourne, took place on Thursday evening and featured a range of spring/summer pieces from Australian designers including Scanlan Theodore, Arnsdorf, Calibre, Diida, Sass & Bide, Jac + Jack, Manning Cartell, M.J Bale, Viktoria & Woods, Alice McCall and Bassike.

Open for all to see, the fashion show on Caledonian Lane featured an assortment of pastel shades, mixed with a scattering of neutral hues, while silks reigned supreme and floral made its highly-anticipated return to the runway ahead of spring.

The fun-filled fashion week, now celebrating its 25th year in the Victorian capital, is slated to run from August 28 to September 5, so be sure to take in the best in Melbourne fashion while you still can.
