While Miley Cyrus may have been enjoying life out of the spotlight, it looks like the star is ready to finally make a reappearance.
After wiping her entire Instagram account clean back in July, the 26-year-old singer made a triumphant return to the platform on Monday with the first and only Instagram post that she’s made since. The cryptic Instagram seems to be announcing new music, which is especially exciting since it’s been more than a year since star’s last album Younger Now dropped.
In the video, a broken heart disco ball spins under red strobe lights as instrumental music plays in the background. Cyrus shared no further details, only captioning the post, “11/29”, with a broken heart emoji while tagging music producer Mark Ronson.

There’s no denying how excited we are about the singer’s newest project, however we can’t help but wonder about the meaning behind the broken heart. Could she possibly be referencing her relationship with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth? We sure hope not.
Any news on the status of their relationship has yet to be revealed, but Ronson preempted Cyrus’s announcement with a tweet of his own, writing, “The heartbreak era is coming… sooner than u think #featuringwho?” along with the same video that the singer shared. He also retweeted a post sharing that they will be collaborating on Cyrus’s new single, “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” which will be out later this week.
Thursday can’t come soon enough.
