Coinciding with the reopening of its Queen Victoria Building flagship store, luxury leather apparel and accessories label, Coach, celebrated its 10 year anniversary in Australia, taking over the newly-reopened store to host a New York City-style block party.
Attended by a number of notable local faces — including Jessica Gomes (above), Roberta Pecoraro, Ksenija Lukich, Jeet Pavlovic and Isabella Manfredi—each key guest wore looks from the brand’s pre-fall and autumn/winter ‘19/’20 collections, with a number of attendees also touting the latter season’s It bag, The Tabby.
In keeping with the theme, NYC-inspired street food was served to all attending, with hot dog and doughnut stands on offer, and American-style cocktails named ‘Staten Island apple pie’ and ‘Hudson River mule’ created by Belvedere at the ready to refresh guests in between bites. And keeping the festivities at a lively pace was Australian DJ duo Bag Raiders, performing a set and previewing their soon-to-be-released album Horizons for all in attendance.
Throughout the evening, guests weaved their way in and out of the new store, which spans 190 square metres and occupies an expanded space on the QVB’s ground floor. Designed by Coach’s creative director, Stuart Vevers, in partnership with seasoned NY-based designer, William Sofield, the store will feature the 1941 ready-to-wear collection for women and men—as well as a wide range of bags, small leather goods and footwear.
In addition to their ready-to-wear offerings, the new store will also include a dedicated accessories shop, stocking scarves, sunglasses, jewellery, watches and bag charms. A Craftsmanship Bar will offer special services to customers in-store, including monogramming and a number of customised Coach stamps, in addition to leather care and cleaning.
But perhaps the most exciting feature of the new store is the Coach Create station. Accompanied by a Coach craftsman, customers can personalise bags and small leather goods by adding unique embellishments, including leather tea roses, souvenir pins, and prairie rivets. This is also your only opportunity to shop an exclusive colour block style of the brand’s signature Tabby shoulder bag—a modern take on a 1970s Coach design.
And adding to the number of interactive experiences in store, for a limited time in September, the brand will house an interactive installation in which shoppers can capture their very own campaign shot on the Coach Staten Island set to post on social media, after which they can also redeem their own Coach gift at the QVB store.
