WWE NXT Results – September 20th, 2017

It’s getting intense in the Full Sail arena as far as Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly’s Undisputed Era stable is concerned. The team has been injuring NXT wrestlers left and right and the team could not be more dominant in their new home. However, our favorite lads from across the pond appeared to give it the ol’ English try. Were they successful? We shall see. Also, Aleister Black spoke for the first time on the show in a strange segment. Forget all that though, we’ve got a Tino Sabbatelli match to discuss!
Tino Sabbatelli vs. Johnny Gargano –
Gargano is on a mission to prove that he is still Johnny Wrestling. He defeated Tino’s partner Riddick Moss last week in a match that was actually pretty difficult for Gargano to win. Did big tall Tino fare well in this match too? Nope. Not really.

Tino started off the match by pushing the significantly smaller Gargano around for a bit. He tried to put him away early, but was unsuccessful. This is when Gargano fired back with some punches and an enzuigiri.
At one point, Johnny tried to jump over the ropes and hit some sort of high-flying move, but Sabbatelli actually managed to catch him and powerslam him down to the mat. Tino did not attempt pin Gargano after this, instead choosing to show off for the crowd. The announcers all chastised him for being a moron. Not long after this, Johnny locked in the Gargano Escape for the win.
Winner: Johnny Gargano
Backstage, Roderick Strong interrupts William Regal while he was in the midst of what sounded like an entertaining story to the cameraman. Strong reminded Regal that he defeated Bobby Roode a few weeks ago, and that now he feels like he has earned a title match against Drew McIntyre. Regal agreed and Strong will fight Drew for the NXT Championship in two weeks.

After showing a brief recap of Asuka surrendering the NXT Women’s Championship a few weeks ago, Sonya Deville says that the reason why she never faced Asuka on NXT is because she would have beaten her. Now she wants a shot at the vacant title.
Bianca Belair vs. Lacey Evans –
These two Mae Young Classic competitors are two of the most athletic and strong women in the entire company right now. The two went back and fourth at first with some impressive power moves. Belair is immensely strong and slammed down Lacey for a two-count within just a few moments.

She decided to drive her foot into Evans’ spine while she had her pressed against the ropes. This was mostly a match to show off what Belair is capable of, but Lacey did hit a neat looking slingshot elbow drop. Belair hit a suplex for another two-count.
After being slammed and punched around a bit more, Lacey gave Bianca a hard clothesline before hitting a bronco buster in the corner. In the end, Bianca turned the match back in her favor once she whipped Lacey HARD with her freakishly-long braid. Indiana Jones’ whip didn’t sound this devastating when he cracked it. I don’t know how this doesn’t count as a disqualification, but she hit a falling backwards powerbomb on Lacey to win. It definitely seems like Bianca Belair is in line to become a big star in NXT.
Winner: Bianca Belair
Aleister Black rose from the stage in a fancy suit while the fans all chanted along to his entrance music. As promised, Black spoke in the ring for the very first time. What followed was quite strange indeed; he said that it took him fifteen years to make it to NXT. He inscribed every bit of his story with the “scars” on his body. He said that his heart was on his throat and the devil was on his back. He said that he knew what he had to do to be successful, but he was interrupted by the least metal person on the roster.
That’s right, The Velveteen Dream came down to the ring and said that Black has been blinded by the light known as the Velveteen Dream. He said that he didn’t see the scars on Black’s body, he sees someone who is hurt. He said that Al’s biggest problem was fear. He noted that he is afraid to show emotion, and he reiterated that he is afraid of the light. That’s deep. You know what? I take it back, maybe Dream is more metal than I thought. Anyway, Black gave Dream the Black Mass kick. He sat down in the ring before The Dream crawled down towards him before slowly scooting out of the ring. I’ve made my mind up. Yes, this is definitely so metal!
Dakota Kai from the Mae Young Classic introduced herself in a brief video. She also wants a shot at the vacant title.
Lars Sullivan vs. No Way Jose –
This was Jose’s chance to get revenge on Lars for knocking him out in Brooklyn all those weeks ago. Although, I could’ve sworn that this match has taken place about 7-12 times since then. Regardless, Jose started off the match full of fire and fury as he chopped Lars repeatedly. As anyone probably could’ve guessed, it didn’t take long for Sullivan to punch, shove, and slam Jose into oblivion. Sullivan actually went to the top rope and hit a diving headbutt. He picked up Jose and slammed him down one final time to win. Lars’ path of destruction continues.
Winner: Lars Sullivan
Tyler Bate & Trent Seven vs. Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly –
Mustache Mountain has returned to avenge their pal Wolfgang, who was attacked by Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly after losing to Pete Dunne on last week’s show. Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly came down to the ring with new entrance music. Cole stayed on the outside of the ring for most of the match.
After trading some holds for a bit, Tyler Bate got the better of Kyle O’Reilly thanks to his impressive speed. He hit him with a dropkick before tagging in Trent Seven. Within moments, Trent got distracted by Cole and Kyle. This allowed Fish to lay in some knee strikes and a rolling senton on the exceptionally bearded Englishman.
Seven regained momentum when he hit a well-placed DDT, which allowed for him to crawl over to Tyler Bate. Before he could reach him, Fish tagged in O’Reilly, and he shoved Bate down to the ground.
Kyle then unleashes an onslaught of strikes and kicks on Trent. Seven finally managed to rest for a short while once he grabbed the ropes. He slid out of the ring. Adam Cole then distracted the referee, thus allowing Fish to dropkick Trent against the barricades. At this point, Trent could not catch a break.
Once he got back into the ring, he finally managed to tag Tyler Bate back in while Bobby Fish was tagged in at the same time. Bate hit a stiff uppercut and deadlifted Kyle into the air, but the latter fought out of it before anything of consequence happened. They traded waistlocks before Bate suplexed O’Reilly. Next, he hit a standing Shooting Star Press for an extremely close near fall.
Trent Seven took it upon himself to dive out of the ring onto Fish so that he would stay out of the match. O’Reilly locked Bate in the guillotine, but the first-ever UK Champion powered out and lifted Kyle up once again. As Seven is standing on the apron watching, Fish pulls him down to the ground and runs back into the ring to prevent Bate from slamming his partner. They hit Chasing the Dragon on Bate only for him to get his foot on the rope just in the nick of time.
Then Trent tagged back in and lit the two former ROH wrestlers up with multiple chops. This all changed once O’Reilly locked him in the cross-armbar. Seven gets out, but is visibly wounded. Adam Cole then got involved when he attacked Tyler Bate outside of the ring. Fish tagged back in, he and O’Reilly both hit simultaneous roundhouse kicks on Seven before performing Total Elimination to finally get the win.
Winners: Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish
The trio stood tall in the ring until Drew McIntyre’s music hit. He ran down to the ring, but the three rascals all slid out and rand through the crowd to escape. They all pointed and taunted at Drew, but they each turned around to find Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe, and Killian Dain waiting for them. They wanted revenge for the stable attacking them a few weeks ago, and they beat the evil men down. Drew joined in on the attack before the group once again managed to flee, albeit much less arrogantly than before.
Now we know that the Undisputed Era may have met their match. We also know what Aleister Black sounds like as well, and no, he does not have a Gilbert Gottfried voice as I had theorized. Ah well. Hopefully we’ll be able to see Adam Cole step into the ring soon, and Roderick Strong will finally get his title shot against Drew McIntyre in two weeks. Sounds like fun. I’ll see you NXT time!
