In a battle of former WWE stars, Cody Rhodes pinned Kurt Angle in their first-ever match-up Saturday night in New York.

Rhodes defeated Angle at Northeast Wrestling’s highly-anticipated “Wrestling Under The Stars” outdoors wrestling show at the baseball stadium in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.

The finish was Rhodes reversing the Angle Slam into Cross Rhodes to pin Angle.

Rhodes tweeted after the match: “Some nights in pro-wrestling are good. Other nights are great. And then you have nights that are EVERYTHING.”

Angle tweeted after the match that he “absolutely loved wrestling Rhodes.”

A big thank U to the fans of @newwrestling1 – absolutely Loved wrestling @CodyRhodes – make no mistake! You got lucky Cody! #itstrue
