The main event of WrestleMania 35 saw Ronda Rousey suffer her first pinfall loss since coming to WWE one year ago. She lost her Raw Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch in the main event of the show. It’s been common knowledge for a while now that Rousey is taking a break from the ring now that the event is over, but she was apparently supposed to make at least one more appearance for the company. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Rousey was supposed to say her goodbyes during Raw last night in the Barclays Center. Unfortunately, Rousey suffered a hand injury during her match at WrestleMania, and those plans were scrapped. She was still backstage during the show last night though.
Although Ronda Rousey is still set to take a hiatus from the wrestling business, she is still signed to WWE until 2021 and will likely return for more matches at some point in the future. In fact, Slice Wrestling reportedly already has a timetable for Rousey’s next matches. They claim that the former Raw Women’s Champion will heal up from her hand injury and then return during a major WWE event like SummerSlam in August or the Royal Rumble next January. Becky Lynch was already teasing facing Rousey again during her promo on Raw last night, so it sounds like WrestleMania 35 did not mark the end of Rousey’s pro wrestling career. Stay tuned for any additional updates on the status of Ronda Rousey in WWE.

It has become an annual tradition for some members of the NXT roster to be called up to Raw and SmackDown shortly after WrestleMania 35 comes to an end. The trend continued last night when Lars Sullivan finally appeared on Raw last night to lay out WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. WWE does have a couple more names in mind for main roster promotions. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio show, Kairi Sane and Candice LeRae are two names that have frequently been discussed when it comes to call-ups as of late. Both women compete in NXT but made appearances during the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal on Sunday. Perhaps they will be called up as soon as the Superstar Shakeup next week or SmackDown later this evening.
