While we’ve had five years to wrap our heads around the fact that Adam Brody and Leighton Meester tied the knot, fans still can’t help but wonder whether or not the actors find it odd that the characters they’re best known for, Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf, ended up together in real life.

In a recent interview with , Brody was quizzed on how he felt about the fact that, as the publication puts it, “the world was like: ‘Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen have fallen in love.’”
“It’s not bizarre,” he told . “To be perfectly honest, it was a little embarrassing. I guess love knows no bounds?” he added, and we couldn’t agree more.
Although he made it clear that he wasn’t as weirded-out as fans were when he married a star from another iconic aughts teen drama, Brody previously revealed in a 2017 interview with that he and his wife do have a laugh about the coincidence from time to time.
“Once a year, randomly, on our Seth and Blair day,” he joked. “It’s good for a laugh”
Meester, who joined Brody for their first interview together as husband and wife, added: “it doesn’t excite us, I think, because we’re just human beings… but it’s exciting to us that it’s exciting to you. It’s cool.”
While both and were produced by Josh Schwartz, confirms that the pair actually met on the set of , a film they worked together on in 2011. The pair later married in 2014, and welcomed a daughter, Arlo, in 2015.
While on the topic of ., Brody also confirmed that he too was disappointed by Marissa Cooper’s fate following Mischa Barton’s exit from the series. Brody confessed he wished Cooper had not been killed off, and had gone to rehab instead.
When asked about whether a reboot of The O.C. would be possible, the actor said “I think it could,” before sharing that he’s a fan of the reboot culture.
“I don’t get too put-off by redoing shows from my youth. I actually like it, and if it doesn’t work—which mostly it doesn’t—then fine, it’s flattering to the original show,” Brody told. “If it works, then you get a new addition. It would have my blessing,” he added.
As for whether or not he would consider making an appearance on the potential remake, Brody’s answer was a hard no.
“As for me, no [I wouldn’t be involved], I’m in another stage in my life,” the actor told the publication. “And I feel silly saying no because they’re not doing it and I haven’t been asked, so who am I to turn down non-existent work?”
