When Netflix’s 2018 teen romance movie, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, based on the bestselling book of the same name by Jenny Han hit our streaming screens it was a breath of fresh entertainment air. We were all hooked on the delightful rom-com tale of Lara Jean Covey and the consequences of her love letters. It also catapulted Noah Centineo to fame, with the now-household name notching up millions of Instagram followers in the days following its release.
And while watching To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before on repeat was an option, with two further books in the series, fans hopes were high that the viewing wouldn’t end with the first film and we’d be treated to two more flicks based on the two sequels: P.S. I Still Love You and Always and Forever, Lara Jean.

As luck (or the vocal internet fans) would have it, two more movie adaptations based on the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequels are reportedly happening, here’s what we know so far about sequel number one: P.S. I Still Love You.
Yes. The second book in the series, P.S. I Still Love You, has been adapted into a film that is coming soon to a Netflix screen near you.
According to The Hollywood Reporter fan-favourites Lana Condor and Noah Centineo will be back in the title roles of Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky respectively, as will Anna Cathcart (Kitty Covey, Lara Jean’s younger sister), Janel Parrish (Margot Covey, the eldest Covey sister) and John Corbett as 2018’s favourite on-screen movie dad, Dr. Covey.
On top of that, 13 Reasons Why and Riverdale star Ross Butler has been cast to join the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before family as Trevor Pike, Peter Kavinsky’s best friend. As Butler and Centineo are good friends IRL, we can’t wait to see how the pair interact on screen.
Netflix has also announced the casting of Jordan Fisher as John Ambrose McClaren, the final recipient of Lara Jean’s love letters. The Grease: Live! star has replaced Jordan Burtchett, the actor that appeared at Lara Jean Covey’s door as John Ambrose McClaren in the first installment.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Jordan Fisher join the To All the Boys family as John Ambrose McClaren,” says the film’s producer, Matt Kaplan, per Teen Vogue. “Jordan’s charisma practically leaps off the screen with anything he does, whether it’s acting, singing, or dancing. There isn’t a more perfect guy who could believably shake things up in Lara Jean and Peter’s world.”
Sofia Alvarez, who wrote the script for the first To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, reportedly penned the script for the follow-up and Michael Fimognari, who was the director of photography on the first film, is reportedly taking on the directing role for the sequel. The sequel will reportedly again be based on the series of novels by Jenny Han and will continue telling Lara Jean Covey’s romantic adventures. This time round, though, it looks like the final recipient of Lara Jean’s letters, John Ambrose McClaren, who turns up on her doorstep in the final scene holding onto the letter, will be a big feature.
Not yet, but we’ll update this story when one drops.
February 12, 2020. Netflix revealed the release date on Twitter with a cute Gif of Lara Jean (actress Lana Condor) and Peter (Noah Centineo) high-fiving surrounded by hearts.
Yes, in the same tweet, Netflix revealed that a third To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film based on the third book, Always and Forever, Lara Jean, is in production.
