Selby Drummond, former Vogue editor and current head of fashion and beauty at Snapchat, tied the knot in early June, marrying her partner Steven Dubb in a stylish destination wedding in Anguilla.
Drummond wed Dubb, a real estate developer, at the Belmond Cap Juluca resort in Anguilla, which is in the Eastern Caribbean.
The wedding unfolded on Instagram, thanks to Drummond’s many stylish friends; posts from the likes of Derek Blasberg and Bee Carrozzini (née Shaffer) kept us informed.
The bride wore a white Giambattista Valli gown which featured a ruffled V-neckline and a floaty train. Hair and make-up artist Alexa Rudolfo worked on her beauty look, which featured a natural, dewy finish on the face and an elegant twisted up-do.
Vogue US has since featured the wedding on their site, revealing even more about the custom wedding dress. “I loved the idea of working with someone who just makes beautiful gowns and beautiful dresses, not typical wedding dresses,” the bride told Vogue. She and Giambattista Valli met in Italy at a party years before she was engaged and she had previously worn one of his looks to the Met Gala. “People told me I’d never looked so good, so I actually just messaged him and said, ‘Do you think I could try some things on? I don’t know what I’m thinking yet, but I need to get more information.’”
The bride revealed that she worked with Valli on adapting a haute couture dress. “He surprised me with something that was exactly what I wanted and exactly right for the moment.”
After the couple exchanged vows at the waterside hotel, the bride changed into a second look, a simple ivory dress adorned with lace and beads by Bill Bull. “My incredible friend and master tailor Bill Bull made this dress that I wore to dinner. Not many people still do what he does, and he knows, perhaps more than anything, to put a bride-to-be at ease in the weeks leading up to her wedding.”
There was also a third look from the night –a party dress by Paco Rabanne.
Given it was a destination wedding, the bride and groom gifted their guests a personalised welcome box, complete with a miniature bottle of tequila. Among the famous guests were actress Allison Williams and Vogue US editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The bride’s matron of honour was actually Wintour’s daughter, Bee Carrozzini (née Shaffer), who seemed to be paying back the favour (Drummond was her maid of honour for her wedding last year).
