Former Ena graduates slam Macron’s plans to close finishing school for civil servants

Emmanuel Macron is facing accusations of “cheap populism” over plans to scrap l’ENA, France’s hothouse for future presidents – except for once the wrath is coming not from militant “yellow vests” but his former classmates at the school.

The French president, 41, graduated in 2004 from l’Ecole Nationale de l’Administration, which has produced half of the country’s post-war presidents, along with a brochette of prime ministers.
