Police has arrested two persons in Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi district in connection with the murder of a transwoman priest inside the temple. The two were booked under Section 302 of IPC and the Goondas Act section.
Police said Rajathi, the transwoman priest of the temple was performing Puja inside the temple on February 14 when two men, Maruthi and Snovin allegedly attacked her with a sickle and beheaded the priest. Her body was chopped into pieces by the two. The two kept the head outside the temple and the mutilated body inside the temple. The two fled after committing the crime.
