Celtic target M’Baye Niang could stay with Rennes

Having tried to engineer a move away from Rennes for some time, Senegalese striker M’Baye Niang has not ruled out the possibility of staying with SRFC report Foot Mercato.

The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan in the Middle East but has seen interest from Celtic, Nottingham Forest, Anderlecht and Porto this summer, with Nantes, Levante and Salernitana adding their names to their the list in recent days.

Niang, however, turned each of those more recent proposals down, with newly promoted Serie A side Venezia currently front of the cue. However, under contract until 2023, Niang is considering staying with the Breton club after 30 goals in 92 games for SRFC across all competitions since joining in 2018.
