PSG pushing to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City

L’Équipe report this afternoon that Paris Saint-Germain have relaunched their efforts to sign Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, with sporting advisor Luís Campos especially keen on bringing the midfielder he first signed for Monaco  in 2014 back to France.

Campos and Silva have not lost touch, and spoke at the start of the summer over the possibility of a move to the Ligue 1 champions. The 28-year-old, who has another three years left on his contract with the Premier League side would be open to a new challenge.

He has privately said that he is interested in the PSG project, with initial talks having taken place between the club’s upper management and his entourage.

Although he initially looked close to joining Barcelona, Campos has decided to throw PSG back into the mix for his signing in the wake of the Catalans’ financial trouble. However, PSG are the target of FFP sanctions from UEFA, which would complicate a potential deal, not least because Manchester City are intent on keeping the winger.
