WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan recently spoke with Inside The Ropes during the WWE UK Tour where he opened up about if his return was as satisfying as he hoped and more.
Bryan spoke about whether or not he is the nicest wrestler in the world, which was an accolade he believes belongs to someone else.
“It’s not true, have you met Jonny Saint? I think he is far and away a much nicer man than me. I have some people who say they thought Daniel Bryan would be nicer on these reality shows because sometimes I pick fun a little bit at my sister in law but how can you not?”
Daniel Bryan also discussed whether his return was as satisfying as he wanted after waiting so long and working so hard to get himself medically cleared.
“Absolutley it was wierd, they announced it on a Tuesday, but I didn’t find out until 9.30 PM, Monday the night before. Dr. Maroon, WWE’s head of medical had a little piece of paper and it said ‘Finally, you’re cleared’ and I cried and called Brie. But when WWE announced it to the world I had just been in Dubai, so I went from Dubai to Dallas to Pitsburgh to see Dr. Maroon and then I had to go back to Dallas for SmackDown, I was taking a nap when they announced it. I wake up to all these messages saying congratulations and I am just like “What, I’ve woken up from a nap.””
Finally, Bryan spoke about not having any ring rust when he returned due to the fact he was preparing for the possibility.
“I had been cleared by all of these doctors so it was just a matter of changing WWE’s Head Of Medical’s mind, so I was prepared to be cleared tomorrow on any given day, or to not be cleared at all. But I wanted to be ready to go out there and be Daniel Bryan and not come back and it’s like “oh, he’s a little slower,” so I had been training for a long time, not wrestling training but physical training.”
