Backstage News On Why WWE Moved Samoa Joe to Smackdown

This year’s WWE Superstar Shakeup saw some big moves, with arguably the biggest coming in the form of Samoa Joe moving to the Smackdown brand.

According to PWStream, WWE moved Joe over to Smackdown to keep him away from Roman Reigns, as The Big Dog is set to be the focal point of Raw. Joe was moved to the Blue Brand so he can be used as a pivotal player on Tuesday nights.

Per source: Samoa Joe moved to #SDLive to avoid Reigns. The two will have a match soon, however following that, Reigns, as expected, will be running #Raw. As such, Joe wouldn’t be a pivotal part of the show. WWE want him to play a big role — he wouldn’t be on Raw, hence the move.
