West Ham launch investigation after Salah targeted by anti-Muslim abuse

A video from the London Stadium has surfaced showing a fan hurling racial abuse at the Liverpool star as he takes a corner kick

West Ham United have launched an investigation after a video surfaced of Mohamed Salah being racially abused during Liverpool’s match against West Ham on Monday.

A video  showing Salah being targeted during a corner kick with a fan yelling anti-Muslim slurs at the Liverpool star has been shared on social media.

A fan can be heard yelling “Salah you f****** Muslim. F****** Muslim c***” as Salah prepared to take the corner, while another is heard calling the Egyptian a “cheat” in the background.

West Ham confirmed on Wednesday that the club is “aware of the incident and have launched an investigation”.
