Cody Rhodes Not Cleared to Compete After Injuries Sustained at AEW Full Gear

All Elite Wrestling has provided an update on the status of Cody Rhodes, following a bloody and violent world championship match with Chris Jericho at Saturday night’s AEW Full Gear pay-per-view.

Early in the match, Cody performed a dive over the ropes and came down at an awkward, sharp angle that saw his face smash into the entrance ramp. The ringside doctor cleared blood from a serious gash above his right eye multiple times, but ultimately ruled at the time that the “American Nightmare” could still compete.

AEW has confirmed that Cody received 8 stitches after the match, and also suffered a costochondral separation (a separation of the rib from the breastbone), and is currently not cleared to compete.
