Audiences around the world have been enthralled with reality TV centred on quests for love for quite some time now. As such, it should come as no surprise that Channel 10 has continued to roll out season after drama-filled season of both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette – but you won’t hear us complaining.
Shortly after astrophysicist Matt Agnew was unmasked as the 2019 Bachelor, the lucky lady slated to take Sophie Monk’s place as the 2019 Bachelorette was revealed, and it just so happens to be someone you may already be familiar with.
Say hello to Angie Kent, the 29-year-old beauty who first rose to fame alongside Yvie Jones on Channel 10’s Gogglebox, before being thrown into the depths of the jungle on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
“I’ve always been the girl who loves to make everyone laugh, but now I reckon it’s time to have someone to laugh with me, rather than at me,” joked Kent, who is set to star in the series’ fifth season.
“I’m at a place now where I have loads of self-love, but I’m also open to all of life’s amazing possibilities,” she added. “So, if 20 or so fellas want to join me, have a laugh and potentially be my perfect partner in life and love – I say – let’s give it a red hot go!”
Described by Network 10 executive producer Hilary Innes as “genuine, funny, loveable and naturally gorgeous,” we can’t wait to see Kent take to our screens with the trademark wit and endearing humour we’ve all come to know and love her for.

While we are yet to be informed of the exact air date of the highly-anticipated season, given that the The Bachelor Australia just ended, it’s likely it will be returning to your screen shortly.
The Daily Mail has reported that Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins, who famously failed to pick a woman to be with at the end of his season of The Bachelor just last year, may appear on Angie Kent’s season as an intruder.
Per the publication, a source has told New Idea that Cummins wants to “redeem himself ” on the upcoming season. “Following the backlash Nick copped after his season, he feels it would be a great opportunity to rewrite the past and show Australia the new Nick,” added the insider.
At this stage, Cummins has neither confined nor denied the news. While we await further information, be sure to familiarise yourself with Kent, the self-professed “bagel and dog enthusiast”, who is considerably active on social media, here.
