As Copenhagen Fashion Week is Scandinavia’s sole fashion week this year – following the cancellation of Stockholm Fashion Week – it’s one to watch. Résumé
Launched in 2016 by sisters Anne Louise Faurholt and Emma Lohmann, Résume has made a definite impact on the Scandi scene. Inspired by the pair’s personalities, their collections are well rounded, covering basics and statement pieces: think structured jackets in reflective materials and sheer layering in neon shades. Spring/summer 2020 will be all about the Nineties aesthetic, via pretty sundresses in acid hues.

Holzweiler
Based in Oslo, Norway, this family-run brand has been building a reputation since its first accessories launched in 2012. Recognised for its playful and eccentric designs for both men and women, fans include Pernille Teisbæk and Gigi Hadid. Holzweiler sets the bar high when it comes to sustainability, eliminating production waste, recycling fabrics and hosting coastal clean-up events. This season, expect a new take on outerwear staples, including anoraks, bombers and hiking boots.

Mark Kenly Domino Tan
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark is a fan of Mark Kenly Domino Tan, often wearing his minimalist dresses for official occasions. Honing his craft at Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen, Tan is arguably Copenhagen’s most skilled tailor: slick suiting is his calling card. While previously he’s favoured low-key press appointments in Paris over the CPHFW shows, this season he’s back in his hometown, bringing effortlessly extravagant, classic style to the runways.

Rodebjer
Founded in New York by native Swede Carin Rodebjer, this brand is one of Sweden’s best exports. Rodebjer strikes a perfect balance between laid-back and polished, slouchy yet elegant, and it’s a winning combination that’s found its way into the wardrobes of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Alicia Vikander and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Showing in Copenhagen for the last few seasons, spring/summer 2020 will be all about loose, flowy dresses rendered in bright hues and luxurious textures.

Freya Dalsjø
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, in 2011, Dalsjø went straight on to launch her namesake label at Copenhagen Fashion Week in 2012. Her designs aim to create a new, empowered sense of femininity via sharp suiting and pleats; and fans include models Helena Christensen and Lindsey Wixson. For spring/summer 2020, expect to see sheer fabrics, lightweight tailoring and sculptural showpieces in technical fabrics.

Elaine Hersby
Elaine Hersby launched her label at Copenhagen Fashion Week spring/summer 2017, and has since become a mainstay on the Scandi scene. A trainee of Acne Studios and Henrik Vibskov, her designs prioritise movement, freedom and comfort. This season look out for her recontextualization of athletic fabrics and silhouettes, juxtaposed with ultra-feminine details such as ruffles and asymmetric hemlines.
